This role is based in Dunedin. Our client is a general engineering company that design, build and install industrial machinery across Australia and New Zealand. This position, based in Dunedin sits within a division that focuses on manufacturing systems and projects will vary from large scale conveyors and materials handling systems, through to blenders, agitators and separators, as well as safe guarding and access/walkways. Clients range from food industry, through to timber, fertiliser and mineral processing. This is a varied company and you need to be confident in taking on new and challenging projects.
The Project Design Engineer is responsible for seeing a project through from start to finish. They are often the first point of contact in terms of sales, through to design and then overseeing elements of the build and installation periods, although each of these departments also have their own leaders. Solidworks is the preferred software used for 3D modelling, but any strong 3D CAD experience will be suitable for this role.
To be suitable for this role, you will need the following experience:
- Existing Industrial Project/Design Engineer experience
- 3D CAD Design experience
- Experienced with Materials Handling or manufacturing systems
- Technical/engineering sales experience is an advantage, but not essential
- Confident communicator, happy to talk with clients
