The Company

Our client is a growing food manufacturer processing a wide range of products across their three production facilities in Hastings, Tauranga and now in Brisbane. The Brisbane site runs primarily as a contract manufacturing facility with multiple project lines making everything from pizza dough, finger food, stocks, sauces, soups, to ready meals. Their modern facility has capacity to grow and with new contracts coming in the indications are good.
 
The Opportunity 
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be fully responsible for all day-to-day aspects of the site’s production including achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, and positively leading the manufacturing team. you will lead production functions across four production lines, ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality while maximising efficiency and meeting market requirements.  
 
You, the Candidate
As a suitable candidate for this role, you will bring with your previous production management experience within a food manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to motivate, mentor and support your team. You will also have shown your ability to identify and drive lean manufacturing initiatives and have strong technical knowledge of food safety systems.
 
To be suitable for this position you will need the following skills and experience:

  • A tertiary process engineering or Food Technology qualification or similar preferred.
  • 10+ years food or beverages manufacturing experience.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
  • Experience in a small-medium sized food / dairy / beverages manufacturing plant.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational qualities.
  • Lean Manufacturing and process improvement experience ideal.
  • Experience and knowledge with industry compliance requirements.

 
PLEASE NOTE: This role is based in Brisbane so you must be prepared to relocate to this location AND have the work rights for being employed in Australia (i.e. Australian permanent residency or citizenship, or New Zealand citizenship).
