The ideal candidate for this role is someone whom has, over the course of their career, made their way off the tools and has not forgotten where they came from. While you wont be swinging a hammer in this role, it would be beneficial for your on-site relationships if you can relate to those who are. You should realistically be comfortable delivering projects in the commercial space worth anything from $20M to $80M as this is a business with a varied client portfolio and a specialist focus.
Here is what will make you successful in this role:
-New Zealand-based commercial Project Management experience
-Have successfully delivered on works ranging in value up to $80M
-Are able to effectively manage and write construction programs
-Have good working relationships with local sub-contractors
-Want to contribute long-term to Auckland’s skyline
This opportunity is a permanent role and for the right person, will eventuate into a Project Director’s role reporting to a Board of Directors. You will be given everything you need to success in this role from a resources perspective and will be encouraged to work and run your show the way you see fit; there will be no micro-management. This is a business that also values work/life balance and enjoying time with your family. While Saturday work will sometimes be unavoidable, the idea here is that there is more to your life than just work.
