We’re proud to have helped local businesses to succeed this year and we’re looking forward to delivering more of our consistent results for you in 2019. Happy Holidays from our team and all the best for the New Year!

Technical Recruitment Solutions would like to wish you an enjoyable holiday period. 2018 has been one of our best years yet, with consistent placements country-wide across all of the sectors we recruit within. We’re looking forward to having a break over the holiday period so that we can return in early January well-rested and ready to deliver the highest calibre of recruitment solutions for our clients in 2019.

In a nutshell, 2018 saw us place a staggering 35% more candidates than last year. Not only this, but we expanded across the board; we hired 4 new members of staff, manually grew our exclusive database to almost 40,000 and drastically increased the frequency and quality of our LinkedIn content.

At the top of his game…

This year our consultants gave 110% of their effort to ensure that you, our valued clients, received the best possible service and recruitment solutions for your business. We had a number of high performers this year, but Adam Cotter from our Construction team went above and beyond. Adam goes the extra mile for all of his clients and we’re beyond impressed with his performance given that this is his first full year with Technical Recruitment Solutions. At the end of the day, our core business is helping to match the right people with the right jobs, and Adam (like the rest of the team) does this with the utmost integrity and perseverance. Well done Adam!

Make sure your CV and cover letters are up to scratch for 2019.

It’s a candidate driven job market right now – the best candidates are getting looked at for the best opportunities. Our job is to help the employer to make informed decisions. If we put your CV and cover letter in front of one of our technical clients, will they be inclined to interview you?

As far as cover letters go, here are some quickfire tips. You can find more on our blog post here.

  • Tailor your cover letter towards the job you’ve applied for through us – specifically address the company, talk about the desired role and discuss what information in your CV directly makes you a good fit for the role.
  • Talk specifically about why you’re interested the role. Your CV shows us why you’re qualified and experienced, but doesn’t communicate what drove you to apply for that specific role. That’s what your cover letter is for!
  • Make sure it’s easy to read, well-formatted and free of spelling/grammar errors. This goes for your CV too as both documents are an early indication of your written ability and attention to detail!

Your CV is equally as important – if it’s missing your most recent experience or isn’t detailed enough, you’re not making as good of an early impression as you could be. Here’s a couple of vital tips:

  • If it’s 1-2 pages, make sure you definitely have enough detail – we know our clients typically like to see all of your projects and experience. In other words; the more, the better!
  • Ensure you grab our client’s attention by featuring your work experience prominently near the start. Sections like interests and hobbies are important, but can be left until the end.

If you’re a skilled technical professional, our consultants will give you tailored advice regarding your CV and cover letters and how to prepare them for the jobs you’re applying for through us. You can view further helpful information, such as CV templates and tips for interviews on our website here. Once your documents are all up to scratch, send them our way using the CV Drop function on our website or apply for a listed job – and start the new year off right!

Link up on LinkedIn!

Finally, a reminder that we’re active on LinkedIn should you wish to keep up to date with the news on our end. In 2019, we’re making big plans for our LinkedIn page – including dedicated job slots for every job that our clients entrust to us. The improvements we have planned will see us spending a lot of time on LinkedIn, so make sure to stay engaged with our content. We’re already updating our blog weekly and are beginning to roll out personalized video content from the consultants themselves – so don’t miss it!

With the year drawing to a close, we begin our holiday on the 21st of December and don’t return until the 7th of January. Please note that some of our consultants may be unavailable until the 14th.

From all of us here at Technical Recruitment Solutions, we wish you a happy holiday, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
