Asset Integrity Engineer

Taranaki based – Large multi-faceted Operational / Manufacturing Plant – Green field proposal

This is one of the better career Asset engineering roles I’ve seen for a while but you will have to move to Taranki for it.

As a major hazards facility and a newly created role, this will allow an experienced Assets professional to have a blank sheet with the design and build of all new compliance based regulatory plans, utilised for improving the sites maintenance, inspection and life cycle management strategies, across all their utilities and processing equipment on site.

Key challenge of the role is balancing new technology with extending the life of key assets. This would include ensuring compliance, developing standards, managing asset life cycle strategies and working with the project, reliability and maintenance teams, to develop specifications and strategies on new and existing equipment. The utilities this role will work with include all mechanical equipment required for heavy industrial manufacturing, such as: air, steam, refrigeration, air heaters, water treatment systems, chemical storage / reticulation and all process manufacturing and cogeneration plant.

To be considered you will have:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Processes engineering (or similar)
  • 6+ years of proven and related experience in designing and delivering life cycle projects – cradle to grave
  • Technically strong with a good understanding of pressure vessels, piping and rotating equipment etc, associated with heavy process or manufacturing
  • Strong people skills, able to deal with both external and internal stake holders
  • Have sound leadership skills, as you will be running a small team
  • Ability to develop plans and tactics to ensure your projects are implemented successfully

This isn’t for the desk driver, I’m after a person with a high degree of technical capability and professionalism, with a robust experience base in the asset integrity category. It’s a great opportunity to develop a system that could become the blue print for other large sites. This highly visible strategic role that will flag your capabilities for future career opportunities within the Asset engineering / management sector.
