Current and Future Context
Over the last three years, a new data warehouse has been implemented. This is taking in source data feeds from their production systems and putting those into data models for straight replications. Then they are publishing Microsoft Power BI dashboard reports or people with excel or query tools can access the data models by connecting to the data warehouse itself. It is a Microsoft SQL Server database with SQL server replications.
The next couple of years will continue this trajectory of using smart data to inform Business Intelligence across the company. A major part of this will be the implementation of a new SAP 4/Hana ERP system and the associated tools that go with this, e.g., Embedded Analytics and SAP Cloud Platform. The company will continue to grow as a result of this.
This is a 12-month maternity leave cover position.
You will be a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant working on business intelligence projects. On the tools side your focus will be data analysis and visualisation and on the consulting side you will be working with internal clients, and this is a real key focus for this role.
You will be part of the Business Intelligence and Finance Team delivering enterprise integration, data warehousing, and business intelligence solutions.
Your internal clients will be a mixture of financial management accountants, Business Intelligence and Improvement Analysts, and managers across the various divisions of the business
We are after an all-rounder with good business acumen. We really want someone who before even going to the tools, firstly goes and makes sure they get a really clear understanding of what the requirements and desired outcomes are, what value the internal client is actually wanting to have from the data, and how people will actually consume it. Someone who can have the right discussions to extract all of the relevant information but also be able to challenge people and get the right result, not just what is first asked for.
You will understand transactional processes in business systems e.g., between ERP, Finance Systems, PLC’s and SCADA on Plant Machinery, and Stock Inventory Management etc. You will use this knowledge to create the right reporting and dashboards for financial, operational, and strategic solutions.
