Since the 80’s this humble business has grown from a “1 man band” with a single CNC machine named “ol’ faithful”, to a 14 strong workforce in a modern workshop housing 17 specialist CNC machines. Over the past 30 years the business motto has remained the same: “do what others can’t do”, this company stands head and shoulders above the competition in technical ability. The projects that are too hard for others are the bread and butter and with growing demand, the future looks very bright indeed.
HOW DID YOU MAKE THAT?
This company has the equipment and expertise to a make “just about anything” you will work with various materials from plain old mild steel through to specialist alloys & metals, and occasionally placing synthetics polymers into your chuck. The range of unmanned lathe and milling machines can turn, drill and cut highly complex jobs to the tightest of tolerances. At anytime the shop floor could be producing such items as specialist dairy fitments, architectural features for construction projects, plastics tools and moulds.
This varied role will keep you moving around between various lathe and milling machines. You may over see multiple machines and keep a careful eye on precision and quality. Programming isn’t an essential skill but some maybe required for this position.
The bulk of the milling machines range from 3 to 5 axis, with more complex operated by senior members of staff.
ARE YOU THE BEST?
We are looking for TOP CNC Setters / Operators but more important than technical ability is attitude and team fit. You will be a contributing member that engages in continuous improvement and drives health and safety initiatives. At a minimum you will have:
- Multiple axis machine setting experience including bar fed
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Health & Safety leadership
- Pride in your work
- Able to perform physical tasks and light lifting
Programming experience is a bonus but not essential. CAD proficiency will also aid your application.
