Customer Service Technician

Our client is a well established leader in their niche field of design, in-house build, and international export of specialist and complex heavy machinery. Being a very stable employer, and part of a global corporation, they have lots of work orders which has led to this succession planning opportunity for a position of Customer Service Technician, based in Rotorua.

The Role

The role is responsible for commissioning, servicing and maintenance of heavy machinery plant

Specifically, you will:

  • Work on the shop floor assisting to build machinery
  • Travel to client sites to install, commission, upgrade and maintain plant
  • During commissioning stage train onsite operators
  • Customer service work to troubleshoot and resolve any client technical issues

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Be a trade qualified mechanical fitter
  • Have previous experience working on and servicing/installing mechanical plant
  • Have experience diagnosing and fault finding mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
  • Be a genuine people person with strong communication skills who works well with others

You will be a self-starter, diligent in your work and a natural problem solver who just gets on with it, being comfortable working in a team or working autonomously.

This role will require travel throughout New Zealand and overseas.
