The Company:
Our client is a New Zealand owned and operated biopharmaceutical company in the Bay of Plenty and well on their way to commercial success. Commutable from central Tauranga, they are an established and growing company with a supportive and tight-knit team environment within a GMP certified manufacturing facility. The Opportunity:
Continued growth and a positive outlook for our client has seen them needing to employ a Facilities Manager to administer all operational management of buildings, facilities and plant and processing equipment for the business. This includes, but is by no means limited to, Building WOF, pest control, liaising with service providers, and managing contractors for maintenance and repair etc.

As the Facilities Manager:
You’ll have a facilities management or maintenance engineering background with a solid understanding of asset management and how this relates to local body regulations. But you’ll also have an awareness of GMP regulations and how these relate to the running of a compliance GMP facility for manufacturing or a regulated pharmaceutical product.

A great communicator, you’ll be able to build and maintain strong working relationships with local contractors, the local council, service providers and your own operations team to ensure the facility and equipment are running to optimum levels. You’ll have a solid understanding of health, safety environmental regulations, and be able to oversee compliance to OSH standards including administrative responsibilities for those people entering the site.

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes:

  • Either a tertiary Engineering qualification or a trade certified (mechanical or electrical) experience OR a solid facilities management background
  • Understanding and experience with health and safety, and its place in facility maintenance
  • Previous experience with regulated/GMP facilities
  • Experience in maintaining building WOF, pest control, BMSs, HVAC systems etc.
  • Proving planning and organisational experience
  • Highly developed communication and organisational skills, including motivating of external contractors
  • Hands-on experience and willing to pitch in as required
  • Deliver results within tight deadlines
