Internal Sales Engineer (Automation Projects)

This is a real tight-knit team that are adaptable to clients’ needs and deliver custom automation solutions that are both in-step with current technology and push the boundaries.

Mid to large sized manufacturers are their typical clients, but they are generalist, flexible and open-minded in terms of the client industry sectors they will tackle.

This company is well-setup, has both existing clients and projects, and new projects bursting onto the horizon. They are stable and growing, an ideal situation for hiring.

The Role

As an Internal Sales Engineer you are someone who can do project proposal development.

This will include specifying equipment, estimating engineering hours, and liaising with product vendors and other project contractors to price up the proposals after an initial sales design phase.

If you have the expertise then the company would love someone who can also work on the detailed solution design, and on contractual documents too.

Excel and the company’s quotation system will be key software tools in this role.

This could suit you if you enjoy technical sales and engagement with people but you don’t want to be away from home a lot.


Does this sound like you?

  • Similar and transferrable background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field (e.g., Electrical, Automation & Robotics, Mechatronics, etc.)
  • Experience in sales for industrial automation projects or products
  • You have strengths in communication, negotiation, and making presentations and proposals.
