Our client is a leading New Zealand confectionery manufacturer with an enviable position within the local and international markets, all supplied by their established manufacturing plant in the lower North Island. Running 24 hours a day, they’ve been offering high quality and delicious treats to their loyal customers for over 25 years.
As part of their strategic growth plan, the position of Logistics Manager has been created. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this key leadership role is responsible for leading, building and developing the company’s Supply Chain and Planning and Procurement functions. This includes optimising the end-to-end supply chain and drive measurable business outcomes by introducing new and innovative ways of working. With direct reports covering inventory and warehousing, the role will also have strong influence on mentoring and guiding these team members as the business continues to grow.
As a suitable candidate you will have significant experience at a management level with supply chain/logistics for FMGC businesses as they have grown in size and stature. You’ll have relevant tertiary qualifications, proven experience with MRP systems, and in driving new methods to improve productivity within the logistics team. You’ll also be able to build and maintain strong working relationships with your colleagues across the business and with suppliers and customers.
The preferred candidate will possess:
- 7+ years Logistics or Supply Chain management experience within FMCG
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management
- Strong people and systems management experience
- Interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
- The desire to drive to improve, and to grow your team as you do
- Tertiary qualifications in procurement or Supply Chain Management highly regarded
