Maintenance Fitter
One of New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers is seeking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team in the Manawatu. This is a great opportunity to work in a large maintenance team, in an automated processing plant, with a mixture of old and some new and sophisticated equipment.
This is a rotating shift, working 2 weeks of days (4:30am-3pm), and 2 weeks of afternoons (3pm – 2am).
The Job:
Working closely with the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for carrying out plant and machinery maintenance, troubleshooting and running repairs on machinery and the overhaul of light and heavy industrial equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the plant’s production machinery and general industrial equipment on site.
There’s a strong focus on continuous improvement and preventative maintenance. You will be a key part of a the team that gets this plant humming.
To be suitable for this position you will need to display the following skills:
- Mechanical Trade qualified
- Maintenance, diagnostics and production improvement experience
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and other fast moving manufacturing equipment
- A variety of skills in fitting, turning, welding and fabrication
- Specific experience in the food, dairy, pharmaceutical or other related industries is highly regarded. Manufacturing experience is absolutely essential.
