Mechanical Engineer

Heavy Industrial / Manufacturing – Project Engineering / Management – Reliability

This exciting role is based on one of the largest heavy manufacturing sites in NZ.

Given the nature and size of the plant, the projects typically involve, ensuring that the manufacturing processes and utilities are constantly available to the production teams.

In this role you will bring your technical engineering expertise to the site and, working closely with the Reliability Engineers, be responsible for the Engineering & Asset Lifecycle Management of the site’s mechanical assets. You’ll be passionate about excellence, continuous improvement and have a keen interest in emerging technology.

Your experience will include project engineering and management, reliability and maintenance to the heavy industry sector, this could be from the dairy, food processing, power, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining or process sectors.

Applicants will possess some of the following attributes and experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Process engineering or similar
  • Experienced with design and development of engineered solutions
  • Ability to build and nurture client relationships (internal and external)
  • Have a minimum of 5 years post graduate and relevant experience
  • Skilled at planning for effective project implementation
  • Understanding of Pressure, Material Handling or Rotating equipment is highly advantageous
  • Conceptual and detailed design
  • Display excellent verbal and written communication skills
