Mechanical Fitter | Workshop

This Kiwi business success story all started in a humble Dunedin engineering workshop over 100 years ago – today they’re a global leader in Automation & Robotics across multiple sectors. Their NZ-designed and manufactured machinery is custom-made for clients in the mining, food processing, and materials handling sectors to name a few. Employing a team of 500 staff, the company is doing exceedingly well and with ambitious growth plans, there is no better time to get on board.

Based out of the Dunedin workshop you will be working within a team to Fit/Assemble complex industrial machines with automated control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and more. You will be working to tight tolerances and ensure all finished parts are checked before they’re dispatched. Whilst predominately workshop based, you will have the opportunity to travel to client sites around the work for final installation and commissioning.
This Monday to Friday role comes with “lifestyle friendly” hours ideal for someone looking to get away from irregular start/finish times.

We’re looking for an organised individual with an eye for detail and a background in the Mechanical Engineering trade. This is an opportunity to work directly for the manufacturer of some interesting equipment.

  • Trade qualification related to Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, Fabrication or similar
  • Experience with machine building/fitting
  • The ability to operate a manual lathe/mill is a bonus
  • Work to tight tolerances
  • Able to read/interpret technical drawings
  • Maintain a tidy and safe workspace

More so than skills and experience, we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude and who thrives on teamwork.
This is an opportunity to work with the cutting edge in industrial automation and service clients around the world. This could be the ideal next step for an experienced Fitter to take a senior role with a growing and innovative company. Your salary will be tailored to match your experience.
