Mixed Animal Veterinarian
Mixed Animal Veterinarian – Galatea
We are excited to have a new role to offer the right candidate who wants to work in a beautiful and unique rural environment while being part of the wider Vetora Bay of Plenty team of 17 Vets, and support staff. Vetora Bay of Plenty recently acquired the Galatea Veterinary Centre which brings further depth to our business across the Bay of Plenty, and presents this exciting opportunity.
A bit about our Galatea Clinic:
- We are a mixed, predominantly diary practice (95% of total workload), with a sprinkling of companion animal, equine, sheep and cattle to maintain general expertise and interest.
- Have an average dairy herd size of less than the national average, reducing fatigue and boredom and allowing for great vet/herd owner interaction.
- A supportive four-Vet practice with approachable and experienced senior vets on hand to provide support and advice, and referral practices within our wider business to help out
- We have a stable, content and cooperative client basis.
We can offer the right candidate:
- A flexible working rotation throughout the year, with very little after-hour caseload when on call with on time off in lieu for weekends worked.
- An attractive remuneration package including surgical and medical insurance, life insurance, subsidised income protection insurance, very generous staff discounts, NZVA and NZVC + 1 SB paid, and openness to ongoing development, not to mention a wide network of experienced veterinarians to tap in to.
- A fully equipped practice vehicle with a nice clinic environment.
We are also looking for a candidate who would like to take on the clinic leadership role down the track and who would be excited to expand their skill set. Although this is not mandatory.
To be successful you ideally will have 3+ years in mixed role and would be open down the track to take on a broader clinic leadership role to contribute further and expand your skill set.
Galatea is a friendly and inclusive rural community with world renowned trout fishing, hunting and tramping on its doorstep, and within commuting distance of Whakatane or Rotorua, each with excellent services, restaurants, bars, shopping and unlimited recreational pursuits, from mountain to lake to sea.
