Our client may be fairly new to the pharmaceutical manufacturing scene in New Zealand but what they have achieved in only a few years is phenomenal.  Based in Hamilton, the company has grown on the back of values that bring the best out of their team with support from the top down.
 
The Opportunity
Continued growth has seen the need for another Plant Maintenance Engineer to support the current team.  Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this is a hands-on role working closely with the production team to ensure the plant is running smoothly and efficiently during production runs and to perform routine maintenance on equipment as per the planned cycle. There is flexibility in the role which could be pitched at a junior level engineer looking to learn and develop their skills, or it could be for a senior engineer with strong experience in the pharmaceutical sector. The payrate and responsibilities will reflect your experience. 

You, the Candidate
With the plant operating powder blending, tabletting, encapsulation and various packaging equipment, we are ideally seeking candidates who have previously worked on these andin a GMP manufacturing environment. BUT we are also open to giving an opportunity to someone with a recent engineering or trade background with the desire to learn and develop themselves to become a fully operational maintenance engineer in the future. Being GMP, we’ll also need you to have attention to detail and good record keeping abilities.
The business is focused on continuous improvement and growth, like the rest of the operations team, you will be expected to proactively approach all challenges with a can-do mindset.
 
Candidates seriously considered will have all or most of the following skills:

  • Mechanical Trade certificate/relevant Engineering qualification
  • 1+ years trade experience (5+ years for Senior role)
  • Experience with Tabletting and Packaging machines (essential if senior)
  • Instrumentation calibration experience (essential if senior)
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulics experience (essential if senior)
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Team player
  • Sound fault finding/problem solving experience
  • A commitment to quality and safe working practices
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Current right to work in NZ essential

As mentioned above, this person could be someone with pharmaceutical experience who can come in and hit the ground running, or someone at the beginning of their career with the right attitude and desire to grow themselves.
