Field Scientist Role:
Following a recent promotion, we are seeking a Field Scientist to join our tight-knit trials team. In stepping into this role, reporting to the ANZ Field Sciences Leader, you will be responsible for conducting and monitoring trials to characterise the field performance of new chemistry compounds in line with global research programmes. You will provide input into globally driven protocols, summarise data at the local level and contribute to global field data summaries. You will also provide local knowledge on crop management practices, issues and trends to the Integrated Field Sciences teams as well as the commercial organisation.
 
Attributes Required:
We are looking for a hands-on, inquisitive and self-starting scientist with a background in Plant Pathology/Biology, Agricultural Sciences or similar.  While some commercial experience would be desirable, it is not essential.  What is essential, however, is your proven ability to develop and maintain strong and trusting working relationships with your colleagues (locally and globally) and contacts outside of the business. You will be analytically minded, being able to work through raw data and convey it in a meaningful manner. You’ll also be self-motivated, and able to add value to or take on advice within the team.
 
To be considered a serious candidate for this role, you should have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Plant Pathology or Agricultural Sciences
  • Practical experience in execution of field management trials
  • Small plot trial experience highly desirable
  • Good understanding of trial designs and goals
  • Knowledge of statistics and data management
  • Very good report writing skills
  • Sound decision make and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication relationship building skills
