TRS are recruiting for an outstanding, team driven Tier 2/3, Hawkes Bay main contractor. This is a locally owned and operated business, who are growing the team and looking to add a Project Manager to the ranks in their Napier office.
This team have proven capability across commercial and multi-residential construction, with a top reputation across the Hawkes Bay. Projects are varied an could be anywhere from $500K-$5/6M+ and as a Project Manager, you’re typically responsible for managing 2-3 projects at a time (unless working a bigger job). Clients exist across a variety of private and government/council sectors – with a stable future workload ahead. The company prides themselves on their team culture, and offers a rare chance to work a normal amount of hours in a work week, whilst enjoying the technical challenges of commercial construction.
As Project Manager, you will work across multiple projects with site teams that vary in size. The business has a in-house carpentry team, as well as Supervisors/Site Managers and projects are welll resourced. As Project Manager, you will work closely with the commercial/QS team through initial planning stages and onto delivery. As Project Manager you will be responsible for making sure the programme is delivered in line with the agreed contract, as well as providing structure and advice to the team, in order to get the job done.
This role requires
NZ Commercial Construction experience is essential
Junior or intermediate Project Management experience
Capable of juggling multiple projects
Qualified carpenter ideally, but someone who “gets it” and has a technical eye for construction will also be considered
Analytical – able to understand specifications, drawings and formulate work programmes
Contracts/NZS3910 experience/understanding
