About the company
My client is an innovative food company that sources, grows, processes, prepacks and distributes produce to the food supply and catering industry across NZ.  They have a solid foundation in the NZ fresh produce industry and are in a growth an improvement phase.

About the role
This role reports into the Technical Manager and has one direct report, a QC Officer. As Quality and Compliance Lead, you will work as part of a close-knit team and assist and lead the Quality Assurance requirements to ensure that all manufactured products meet the regulatory requirements and are of acceptable quality. As this is a small and dynamic company, you will be working in a fast-paced environment and work with other departments including sales, NPD, production. You will oversee production in the Technical Manager’s absence, and help around the site as required. This is your opportunity to take on a role in complex manufacturing and work for a company where you can make a change and have a lasting impact.

Your profile
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic self-starter who is looking for a role where they can make a difference and who is comfortable working in a multi-functional role. You will also be a team player with excellent communication and a keen eye for detail. As the lead QA and Compliance person on site, you will be confident with great relationship building skills, with experience traiing staff in QA and maintaining standards.

Applicants should have the following attributes, qualifications and experience:

  • NZ bachelor degree in Food Science/Technology/Applied Science/ Agriculture or similar preferred
  • 5+ years NZ QA, food safety or regulatory experience gained within the food industry
  • Quick learner, strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Positive attitude and self confident
  • Must have NZ working rights
