Senior Field Technician

Watermetrics is a division of ADR, who has been helping to keep communities and businesses running with utility technology products, services and expertise since 1909. That means we offer deep expertise in the technology that keeps our customers operating effectively in the field, from high voltage power distribution, to water revenue metering, system control and data acquisition, to parking management systems.

Jump into your truck and head out to the plains of Canterbury. Find the farm and person running it, and have a quick chin wag, before putting the ute into 4WD and making your way through paddocks to find your work site for the day (don’t forget to close the gate behind you).
Now the fun starts, you’ll install, calibrate, and test a range of smart Water-Meters, Data Loggers, Soil Moisture/Temperature Sensors and other instruments that track NZ’s most valuable resource, WATER! This role requires both electrical and mechanical skills, from digging a hole in the soil to analysing data, there’s plenty of variety and challenges to keep you engaged.
This role also requires leadership attributes as there is a team of Field Technicians that will look to you for guidance and wisdom.
We’re looking for a practical “Superstar” who is as good with people as they are with the tools. Is this you?:

  • Hold a current EST or full Electrician registration
  • Well-rounded practical skills
  • Excellent on-the-spot problem solving
  • Great customer service and a firm handshake
  • Rural/Agricultural sector experience a bonus
  • High standards for Quality and Safety
  • Not afraid to get dirt on your boots
