Senior Project Manager – contract

We are seeking a highly experienced Industrial Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale capital projects within a dynamic and essential sector of New Zealand’s economy.

This fixed-term opportunity is ideally suited to a seasoned professional who brings a depth of experience managing significant CAPEX programmes, particularly within large-scale processing or manufacturing environments. You’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing complex project lifecycles—from planning and procurement through to execution and commissioning—ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

About the Role

  • Lead and manage major capital projects with high strategic value
  • Oversee end-to-end project delivery, including stakeholder engagement, risk management, and contractor coordination
  • Provide governance, reporting, and leadership across multiple project streams
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards
  • Based in Christchurch with some regional travel required

About You

  • Extensive experience managing large capital projects (ideally within industrial processing, manufacturing, or similarly complex environments)
  • Proven track record delivering complex CAPEX programmes
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
  • Commercially astute with excellent risk and contract management skills
  • Likely a senior professional seeking a meaningful fixed-term role to leverage decades of experience
