Senior QC Analyst – GMP

  • South Auckland location
  • Some flexibility in work hours
  • Supportive leadership team

The Company:
Our client is a New Zealand owned and operated manufacturer of pharmaceutical products.  Their cGMP accredited facility, based in Auckland, manufactures a broad range of products for the local and export markets.
The Opportunity:
Following increased demand within the business and with their laboratory bringing much of their testing in house, our client is seeking a Senior QC Analyst. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for the ongoing analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates, and final products in accordance with relevant SOPs and regulatory standards.  But you will also be heavily involved in method development and validation for new test methods brought inhouse and to meet new customer needs.
As a senior member of the team, you will support sample management, OOS investigations, and communication with external contacts in relaying or conveying critical test result information.
You, the candidate:
You will have a tertiary life science qualification, and at least 3 years experience in a GMP/GLP certified analytical laboratory. You must be proficient with HPLC, GC and other analytical instrumentation in both sample testing, method development and, preferably, method validation. You’ll be able to work independently but as part of a larger team and be used to working with other departments. You’ll need to work to tight deadlines and handle schedule changes if production requires this.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a lifescience field, preferably Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • 3+ years practical experience working in an analytical laboratory testing to GMP levels
  • HPLC, LC-MS, GC or similar test method experience
  • Method development and validation experience preferred
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised
  • Experience with working with US and European Pharmacopoeias

The company offers an industry competitive salary.  The laboratory runs from 6am – 6pm Monday to Friday and so there can be some flexibility in your hours to work in with family commitments etc.
