Service Technician (Industrial Equipment)

Our client is a leading, international manufacturer of industrial grade floor care equipment. Due to a staff member leaving, they are looking for a new service technician to join their team. This is a mixture of workshop-based and site-based position. 

This is predominantly a mechanically based role with some small electronics involved. Ideally we are looking for someone who has worked on sweepers or scrubbers, but we will also consider applicants who have experience working on similar equipment, such as lawnmowers (ride-on and manual), chainsaws, etc. The machines are varied but leaning more on the heavy duty side, with petrol engines, mechanical parts and electronics, so you’ll get the opportunity to work on a number of different faults and use all of the skills you have. Please note this is a high paced environment as you will be working to resolve customers’ requests in a timely manner. Mig welding is also required as part of this role. 

To be suitable for this position you will need the following experience:

  • Mechanical aptitude – trade qualified ideally
  • Experience with floor care equipment (e.g. sweepers, scrubbers) is preferred
  • Diagnosing/fault finding skills and good all-round hands-on skills
  • Experience working with industrial equipment
  • Some welding skills are essential
  • Electrical aptitude or EAS/ EST is a bonus
  • Team player
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
