The demand for NZ lumber is at an all-time high and this Timber processing site just outside of Kerikeri is running flat out to keep their international client base supplied with premium locally grown pine products. The site is home to state-of-the-art automated equipment that needs skills hands to keep it in top working order. The modern plant is designed to be a safe work environment for all.
IN A TYPICAL DAY
This Mechanical role is all about staying ahead for breakdowns by carrying out routine preventative maintenance on all equipment on-site. You’ll frequently be working on hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating and static equipment during productions hours and you’ll also be ready to address any unforeseen equipment issues. You’ll need a methodical approach to faultfinding to identify the route cause of a problem and implement a solution to prevent recurrence.
On top of the routine maintenance, there are plenty of upcoming CAPEX projects to keep you on your toes. Experience commissioning new machinery is highly preferred.
This Monday to Friday role alternates between morning and afternoon shifts to give more time in the sun.
To be suitable for this position you will need the following skills:
- Trade qualified: Mechanical/Maintenance or similar
- Experienced with Fast-moving, highly automated production
- Excellent skills as an all-rounder
- Steam/Boiler experience would be an advantage
- Willingness to learn and turn your hand to any task
- Physically fit
- Ability to use SCADA/HMI system to recognise a fault via an automated system
- Safe work practices
