Well Engineering Manager

OMV New Zealand is entering a period of growth and as part of this we are looking for a Well Engineering Manager to join the Taranaki based team.

The job.
Our new Well Engineering Manager will:

  • Be responsible for planning and execution of drilling and workover projects
  • Providing technical advice and expertise in drilling and workover related matters
  • Be responsible for project coordinating with drill rig operators / contractors and others within the company
  • Approving drilling and workover budget estimates
  • Maintain effective cost and quality control of all drilling / workover activities

In general, take responsibility for ensuring the delivery of all drilling and workover projects.

The person.
Our new Well Engineering Manager will:

  • Be Degree or Masters qualified in Petroleum Engineering or similar
  • Have a minimum of 15 years experience the Oil & Gas industry, with a mix of operational and business experience
  • Have at least 5 years experience in offshore drilling and workover operations supervision / management
  • Industry training in drilling / production technology
  • Hold IWCF certification in well control (Supervisor level offshore, subsurface)
  • Hold or be able to renew offshore medical and survival certificates
