Are you a BMS Engineer or do you want to explore becoming one transitioning from an Industrial Controls background? Here’s an opportunity that might spark your interest…
An established building automation specialist in Christchurch is looking for engineers to join their experienced team.
They’re particularly interested in BMS Engineers but are definitely open to help someone make the career transition from a relevant background like Industrial Automation and Electrical Engineering.
So, this is a career transition opportunity for some people out there. Perhaps who are finding the industrial automation environment a bit low on work, you want to do something different, or you like the sound of having a full use vehicle and overtime after 40 hours at time x 1.5!
Why consider this opportunity?
– Work with latest building automation technology (similar to industrial control systems)
– Mix of project work and service support – great variety!
– Clear career progression path
– Experienced team who will train any new hire
– Full package including salary, paid overtime, a full-use vehicle, laptop, and phone
What will you be doing?
– Programming building control systems using block based programming (FBD) and text based programming (PPCL). E.g. for controlling HVAC, Lighting, Lab Gas, and Mechanical equipment.
– Creating system graphics and user interfaces (MMI similar to HMI’s for Controls Engineers)
– Commissioning and integrating various building systems
– Working on diverse projects (airports, universities, commercial buildings etc.)
– Collaborating with a team of 15+ BMS Engineers, so plenty of support
– ¾ Project work and ¼ Service work + on-call
Apply if you have some these attributes:
– Experience in BMS, PLC programming, industrial controls, or electrical systems
– Knowledge of Modbus, IoT technologies, or power monitoring
– Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn
– Trade background and/or relevant engineering qualification
– Siemens experience i.e. for Industrial Controls Engineers looking at a transition to BMS Engineering, I am told that Siemens TIA Portal experience is transferable to Siemens ABT and Siemens WinCC is transferable and similar to Siemens Desigo CC
Even if you don’t have direct building management system experience, they’re interested in speaking with you if you’ve got relevant technical skills and the right attitude.
