The Company
This an outstanding main Contractor, which specialises in high quality, design and build commercial construction. With interesting projects underway and due to commence in 2025, they are looking to bring in an experienced QS to the Manawatu team. This is an exciting and unique opportunity which offers real career growth and the chance to work on significant projects that shape the profile of region.
The Role
As an Intermediate QS, you’ll initially be site based on a $40M project in Palmerston North for the duration of the project on a 18 month fixed term contract. Long term, there’s good future potential to stay with the business, become office based and involved in preconstruction on future projects. There’s a supportive and diverse team in place here and real opportunities to develop further down the line as the team grows.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the project from concept to handover, so you will manage all QS responsibilities across financial control, sub-contractor management and performance of the project, as well as working closely with your team and client to ensure this high end project is finished on time and to budget.
Skills Needed
- Previous experience in quantity surveying on commercial construction projects
- Confident communicator with both clients and subs
- Eye for detail and ability to drive profitability of a project
