About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, NZ-owned dairy manufacturing business in Christchurch as a Quality Officer (fixed-term maternity cover). This is a varied, hands-on role supporting food safety, quality systems and compliance across the site. This role would suit someone looking for an intermediate level role, or even someone wanting more responsibility at a Senior Quality Coordinator level. 
Ideally, the successful candidate will be available to start late April or early May (negotiable). This is a fixed-term role for 6 months initially, but may be extended or made permanent. For the right candidate, the company will consider a part-time role to offer extra flexibility.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting food safety & quality systems including HACCP, RMP, GMP and internal audits.
  • Investigating customer complaints and supporting quality improvements.
  • Managing documentation for export, product release, and compliance.
  • Supporting internal teams with training, technical writing and process documentation.
  • Assisting with sampling, testing, and environmental monitoring.

About You, the Candidate:
You’ll be an experience quality professional from the food, dairy, or FMCG industry, with excellent communication and attitude, and happy to work in a fixed-term role.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or dairy environment (4+ years).
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Auditing experience – GMP and internal systems audits. 
  • Experience with investigations, Risk Assessments, Corrective Action implementation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and customers.
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Must have full NZ working rights.
  • Ideally available to start late April (not essential).
