Our client is one of most successful partners to many heavy industry sectors in New Zealand. More recently they have extended their business across into Australia with 500 professionals working between both countries. The company has grown based on its reputation for providing excellent levels of service and expertise on major industrial projects, particularly where those projects need a high level of vision and strategy.

With the headquarters in New Plymouth (where this role is based), the company manages major projects across Australia and New Zealand.

The Opportunity:
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage a diverse range of engineering projects, ensuring excellence in delivery and strong client outcomes. In this role, you will represent the company with clients, vendors, and certifying authorities while driving project success across quality, cost, and time milestones.

You’ll manage project scope and resources, mentor and guide engineers and designers, and help grow the business by developing relationships and identifying opportunities in both existing and new markets.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Tertiary engineering degree qualification, preferably Mechanical discipline, though open to Process or Electrical & Instrumentation
  • Proven industrial construction project management experience, managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Strong technical background with ability to review and approve engineering designs/calculations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Business development capability – identifying opportunities and delivering value to clients
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to travel to project sites and client locations across New Zealand and Australia as required
