Production Assistant

The Company
This role is with a growing medical device company developing and manufacturing innovative surgical products. Although the team is small, this NZ company has enjoyed great success and investment over the years, and supplies products to hospitals across the globe. The role is based in Upper Hutt, at their new site with a purpose-built facility.  
 
The Role
Reporting to the Production Lead, you will support the manufacture of specialised biomaterials. You will be involved across day-to-day production activities, plant housekeeping, documentation, and support maintenance and validation work, while also supporting the QMS, and assisting development projects as required.
 
This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a controlled manufacturing environment, follows processes closely, and takes pride in accuracy and quality. The role is based on site at their new facility in Upper Hutt, and is a full-time permanent position, working days Monday to Friday.
 
You, the Candidate
As you will be working in a small team in a busy environment, you’ll be someone with a great attitude and work ethic, and the ability clearly communicate and get on with people. Ideally, you’ll have exposure to a production environment to supplement your science degree.
 
In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A BSc in Chemistry, Biology, or similar (essential).
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech or nutraceuticals is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow and document processes.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • A team-oriented approach with clear communication skills.
  • Ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Comfortable with hands-on work, 40 hours per week.
  • Ideally available to start mid-February.
  • Full NZ working rights essential.
