Quantity Surveyor

|Civil & Construction - Quantity Surveying|Wellington

I’m assisting an established, professional quantity surveying and cost management consultancy with a strong national footprint who are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Wellington. Work is varied across a mix of commercial and infrastructure projects, ranging from smaller jobs through to larger-scale builds.

About the Role

You’ll be working alongside experienced senior team members, covering the full spread of pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties from project inception through to completion. It’s a a busy role and you won’t be stuck doing the same thing project after project, so an excellent opportunity to grow your career.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Preparing cost estimates, cost plans, budgets and tender documentation
  • Contract preparation and administration through the life of a project
  • Monitoring project costs and keeping financial reporting accurate and up to date
  • Liaising directly with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
  • Supporting senior team members with wider project and office requirements as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Around 3-6 years’ relevant Quantity Surveying experience ideally
  • New Zealand based consultancy experience is preferred
  • Strong estimating, cost control and contract administration skills
  • Confident communicator, comfortable dealing directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Construction-related qualification (Diploma or Bachelor in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience)
  • NZIQS membership or working towards registration is a bonus, but not essential
