With offices in New Zealand and Australia, our client is an OEM design and build company specialising in automated bulk material handling and packaging machinery. This automated production machinery, mainly used in the food manufacturing sector, is designed, built, and tested in-house, to suit a client’s needs, then commissioned on a client’s site with after sales support provided. With both local and offshore clients in niche food markets, they provide high end and customised solutions using the latest technology to optimise production.

With plenty of work on, we are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the Hawke’s Bay based team.

The Role
You will be working for the packaging and product handling division of this company, designing bespoke systems for clients.
 
Specifically, you will:

  • Be responsible for the overall electrical systems engineering design and drafting (Motor Control Centres, control panels, and machine electrical systems)
  • Prepare schematics, manufacturing and parts drawings, and associated documentation
  • Ensure overall project compliance with relevant standards.
  • Be involved in further product development and continuous improvement projects

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Be a tertiary qualified Electrical Engineer (or equivalent)
  • Have experience in electrical design with industrial automation hardware and control systems
  • Have proven working experience in industrial, manufacturing, process, or food industry design  
  • Have advanced skills with AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN

You will be a pragmatic problem solver with attention to detail who has excellent communication skills and takes the initiative to get things done.
