Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity with a leading company in the paper and packaging industry? We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility based in Levin, New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Work & Equipment Upgrades: Lead and participate in electrical engineering projects, including the planning and execution of equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • PLC Programming & Editing: Work with PLC systems to program, edit, and troubleshoot systems, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
  • Routine Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and preventing issues before they arise.
  • Breakdowns & Repairs: Provide hands-on support to resolve electrical faults and breakdowns quickly, minimizing production downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure electrical systems are optimally aligned with manufacturing needs.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and report on performance metrics.

About You:

  • Trade qualification as an Electrician (NZ or equivalent).
  • Experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), and control systems.
  • Skilled in PLC programming, editing, and troubleshooting.
  • Able to balance project work, equipment upgrades, routine maintenance, and breakdowns.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to health and safety, with a commitment to best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing tasks effectively.
