About the Divisions
ARA (https://aragroup.com.au/) is a multi-divisional installation, service and product business located throughout Australia and New Zealand, with five divisions working together to deliver fully integrated solutions: from turnkey electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and distribution of security products, security and fire protection services, cleaning services, building maintenance and remedial services.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a General Manager to lead the New Zealand operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth, operational performance, team leadership, and client satisfaction across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans in collaboration with the Senior Management Team.
- Drive business performance, including financial management, project delivery, and quality assurance.
- Lead a high-performing team through effective recruitment, training, and coaching.
- Lead operational improvements to boost profitability and efficiency.
- Foster customer relationships and identify new business and upsell opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and quality standards across all operations.
What We’re Looking For
- A proven General Manager with leadership experience.
- Strong technical background, preferably within the Security, Communications, or Electrical industry.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, identify and develop up and coming talent in the business
- A strategic thinker with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, drive departmental KPIs, and lead change.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
