Infrastructure Project Manager – Queenstown

I’m currently assisting a leading national project management consultancy looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of Three Waters infrastructure across the Central Otago region.

About the Role
Based predominantly in Queenstown, you’ll take ownership of substantial infrastructure works spanning pump stations through to water and wastewater treatment plants amongst others. Recent and current work in the region includes growth-enabling water, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure supporting new residential development under a special housing zone, and a major pump station replacement delivering flood protection and environmental outcomes for a regional council. This is a client-facing PM consultancy role with varied responsibility, and you’ll be trusted to run delivery of your work end-to-end.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of Three Waters infrastructure works (pump stations, water/wastewater treatment, stormwater) both new build and refurbishment/maintenance scale.
  • Work across multiple sites and packages throughout the local region
  • Act as the key client contact, managing relationships and expectations throughout each project
  • Oversee design teams, resource consents, and procurement of contract packages
  • Manage project programme, budget, and any co-funding arrangements
  • Coordinate design, construction, and delivery teams to keep projects on time and on budget
  • Report on progress, risk, and programme to clients and internal stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a PM Consultant in New Zealand is essential
  • Three Waters / infrastructure delivery experience
  • Local Central Otago or Queenstown experience is a bonus, but not essential
  • Experience managing work in a multi-stakeholder environment 
  • Strong client management skills and the confidence to run projects with autonomy
  • A proactive, commercially-minded approach to delivery
