New employees are joining an energetic, motivated team of people working towards the vision of the world loving world class chocolate from Porirua! Whittaker’s are now looking for a Maintenance Engineering Team Leader to join their team.

The Role.
The Maintenance Engineering Team Leader role is to provide direction and leadership to the engineering maintenance team, who support the production through planned maintenance work, timely intervention in fault finding and repair work, machinery changeovers and installation work.

Specifically, you will:

  • Allocate and prioritise team members daily/weekly work plans for both reactive and planned maintenance, collaborating with the maintenance planner.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance support to the factory.
  • Organise and coordinate external contractors as required.
  • Assist with and establish best practice maintenance management and spare parts management.
  • Assist with continuous improvement and capital projects.
  • Capture and report team effectiveness metrics

To join us in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant engineering qualification
  • Leadership experience at a senior level in engineering maintenance
  • Experience working with high-speed machinery and packaging equipment
  • FMCG experience (preferred).

You will have proven leadership and technical skills and be a proven problem solver who is confident leading and directing the team.
