Time to own your corner of the plant!
Due to the upcoming retirement of 2 long-standing employees, this well-established, high-volume manufacturing site in Wiri is looking for specialist Fitters to join their Site Services team – and these roles don’t come up often.
Forget being a generalist run-around. This team is the specialist maintenance brain of the operation. Each technician is assigned their own area of the plant, becomes the resident expert in it, and owns it. Truly owns it.

KEEP PRODUCTION HUMMING
Day to day, you’ll be hands-on with specialist automated production machinery, working through PMs, diagnosing breakdowns, running changeovers, and getting into the workshop for lathe work and light fabrication. There’s also a solid fluid-handling side to the plant – pumps, washers, chemicals – which means anyone with a plumbing background might find this a surprisingly natural fit.

GOT THE RIGHT SKILLS?
We’re not being precious about where you’ve come from. What matters is mechanical aptitude, a trade behind you, and a genuine interest in becoming the expert in your area. Sound like you?

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
  • Background in high-speed or precision manufacturing (can-making/packaging ideal, but not essential)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
  • Light fabrication / welding a bonus – not a dealbreaker
  • Fluid systems, pumps or plumbing experience? Worth a conversation
  • Clean H&S record – your referees will be asked
  • Must have current and unrestricted NZ working rights

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
Base rate sits at $42–$46/hr + other applicable allowances. Overtime is paid at T1.5 or T2.0, and if you’re good at your job, the shift teams will be knocking on your door for weekend cover too – that’s your call.
