Mechanical Designer / Drafter

Our client, part of a global group, designs, manufactures, and distributes throughout New Zealand and internationally, heavy industry earthmoving attachments for construction, demolition, quarrying and mining industries.

With plenty of work and continual growth, they have a need for a Mechanical Designer / Drafter to join their Tauranga based team.

The Role
You will be responsible for the design and production of detailed technical drawings of heavy industry earthmoving attachment products.

Specifically, you will:

  • Undertake 3D modelling and design
  • Produce product design drawings, BOMs and sub-assembly drawings
  • Produce product manuals and end user diagrams
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers and provide technical support

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Be a tertiary qualified Mechanical Engineering (BE Mech preferred)
  • Have proven design or drafting experience with heavy industry products
  • Be proficient working with Solid Edge (preferred) or similar

Personally, you will have excellent communication skills, have attention to detail, and be a proven team player committed and motivated to completing work in an accurate and timely manner.
