Product Development Technologist
Role & Company:
My client is a well-established nutraceutical manufacturer looking for a Product Technologist due to internal promotion. This role sits at the heart of the contract manufacturing business and works closely with key account managers to deliver formulation projects for customers across international markets, including China and Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and formulating dietary supplement products in response to customer briefs, taking projects from concept through to production handover.
- Managing a portfolio of concurrent projects, working within tight timelines to meet customer expectations.
- Liaising directly with customers and internal stakeholders, including regulatory, quality, procurement, planning and production teams.
- Ensuring formulations comply with GMP requirements and relevant regulatory standards for dietary supplements, nutritional products or complementary medicines.
- Providing technical support to the factory, troubleshooting formulation and process issues as they arise.
- Contributing to sourcing and trailing of packaging solutions.
Requirements:
You will be juggling multiple short-term projects at once, so this role suits someone who thrives on fast turnaround times and enjoys the challenge of bringing new formulations to life within tight timeframes.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- 5 years of experience in product development within dietary supplement manufacturing, infant formula or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree, such as Food Technology or Pharmacy.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent product development projects from concept through to commercialisation.
- A solid understanding of GMP manufacturing principles.
- Experience working with complex formulations, ideally in solid dosage formats.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability multitask.
- Excellent communication and the ability to liaise with customers.
- Fluency in Mandarin is advantageous.
- A genuine interest in working within a GMP regulated, fast paced manufacturing environment.
