Production Planner
- Expanding dairy manufacturer
- Supportive leadership and engaging operations team
- Opportunity to ‘own’ the manufacturing planning process
- Competitive salary, hybrid role
The Company:
Our client is an internationally backed food ingredients manufacturer. Recently they have invested in a state-of-the-art dairy plant in central Waikato and with ongoing expansion work and a robust customer pipeline, the business is fast becoming one of the jewels in the crown of the region.
The Opportunity
With the growth of the business, we are looking for an experienced production planner and inventory controller. Using their ERP system (SAP) the purpose of the role is to develop, maintain and improve a supply plan for the dairy powder manufacture based on variable raw material supply. That means working closely with the key stakeholders within the business (milk supply, production, logistics and QA) in a proactive and communicative manner to ensure that the company not only meets but exceeds customer expectations.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this is a critical role for the business and so proven knowledge of working with SAP
You, the Candidate:
As a preferred candidate, you must have significant experience working independently in a production planning role, preferably with raw materials where variances need to be managed with no effect on final product availability. In a highly communicative team, you’ll need to contribute to conversation and be able to identify and convey potential issues far ahead of them being problems. You’ll have rounded experience with various MRP/ERP systems but ideally SAP.
With the role based in central Waikato, there is some flexibility on hybrid working but the preference is to be on site more than not.
As a suitable candidate you will preferably have the following credentials:
- Minimum of 5 years planning/scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a dairy, food, pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
- BoM management, bulk batching scheduling experience
- Inventory control experience, working closely with raw material providers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management and planning skills
- Proficient in creating reports and schedules through ERP systems and spreadsheets
This is a great opportunity for someone with some planning/scheduling experience to further develop their career. In return, your client offers a competitive salary and a supportive team environment.
The role is commutable from Cambridge/Matamata/Rotorua on a daily basis and from Hamilton for a hybrid role.
