The Company: Our client is a small but continuously growing manufacturer of pharmaceutical products for the global animal health market. Their modern facilities are based conveniently in the Hutt Valley.
The Role: This will be a hands-on production role, focussed on the manufacture of high-quality products, including active ingredients. You also will be maintaining production equipment and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
There is an excellent pathway for growth and development in this role, with the successful candidate likely being built up into managing a small team of production technicians, coordinating production activities, and contributing to process improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring all production activities, including the manufacture of active ingredients are completed as per the schedule
- Cleaning and maintaining production equipment and areas
- Preparing and dispatching orders for shipping
- Assisting with preventative maintenance of equipment and utilities
- Raising change controls as required
- Supporting risk assessments, corrective actions and preventative actions for quality and compliance purposes
- Development and review of SOPs
- Ensuring compliance and complete documentation in accordance with GMP requirements
- Training new staff on production operation
Once the successful candidate is fully trained and competent in production processes, there is opportunity to take on more responsibility with planning and allocation of resources and staff, coordinating and improving manufacturing processes, managing raw materials and stock levels, leading continuous improvement projects and more.
You, the Candidate: To be considered for this role, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:
- A tertiary qualification with a strong chemical or biotechnology component
- Experience working in a GMP, GLP, or similar technology-based environment, preferably in a chemical or laboratory industry.
- Experience with equipment maintenance, process improvement, and quality system compliance is beneficial.
- Forklift license with F endorsement (desirable).
