The Company 
Our client is a well-known dairy company based in North Waikato. They have a state of the art manufacturing facility and are a highly successful business currently undergoing growth. 
 
The Opportunity 
With continued investment in their site, our client is seeking a Project and Process Improvement Engineer. Reporting to the CAPEX & Process Improvement Manager, this position is responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of capital improvement projects for the site. This includes the development of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.  This is a critical interdepartmental role which means working collaboratively with the site leadership team and their respective departments to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. 

 
Requirements 
A relevant engineering qualification and several years of previous project engineering/management experience are prerequisites for this position.   You will have prior CAPEX planning and management and a proven record of meeting projects on time and within budget.  You’ll also have an encouraging communication style, and be able to positively motivate key stakeholders to meet the project objectives even if they are not direct reports.  In a company that strives for continuous improvement, ideally you will have some knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, 6 Sigma or similar. 
 
Ideally our clients are looking for someone with: 
 

  • Bachelor of engineering in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or similar 
  • Experience in a dairy environment (infant formula experience ideal) or Food / FMCG
  • Project engineering including CAPEX
  • Process improvement engineering
  • Active communicator, able to positively influence across the hierarchy 
  • Contractor management experience essential 
  • ERP experience, ideally MEX and/or MS Dynamics Navision
