Project Engineer

Our client is an OEM design and build company specialising in automated bulk material handling and packaging machinery, robotics, chiller and blast freezers, to name a few! 
With growth and a full order book, comes the need for additional people and we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join the Hawkes Bay based team.

The job:

As our new Project Engineer you will undertake and coordinate full EPC functions for projects assigned to you, including:

  • Design Management, peer reviews, etc.
  • Liaise with clients, project managers and the likes to ensure designs meet the requirements
  • Coordinate procurement and fabrication activities
  • Develop RFQ’s for assigned work packages and support tender reviews, etc.
  • Manage and report on budget performance for work packages, hours utilised, estimated time to completion and material usage, etc.
  • Assist in the commissioning phase, as required

The person:

Our new Senior Project Engineer Will:

  • Be tertiary qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline
  • Have at least 8 years in total work experience
  • Have at least 5 years in a Project Engineering role (food industry experience preferred)
  • Have excellent planning and organisational skills and experience
  • Be proficient in Inventor software
  • Have a basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Vault software (Preferred)
  • Be excellent verbal and written communications abilities
  • Above all, be a people person.

As you will be the first point of contact for all stakeholders for assigned projects, the ability to build good working relationships at all levels is essential.
You’ll need to be innovative and be able to think outside the square, have good time management abilities and be able to cope well with pressure.
The ability to travel and spend some time away from base is a requirement, although travel is minimal.
