Our client, a New Zealand owned and operated business has been redefining how medicine are delivered for over 30 years. With established facilities and a growing pipeline of products, they are driving innovation to help the global human and animal health sector. As part of their continued drive to deliver innovation to their customers, we are looking for a Project Manager to join their Transformation & Delivery team to lead the critical journey of translating new products from development into GMP manufacturing and beyond.
 
Location:
This is a Hamilton based (Te Rapa) role and will require the incumbent to work full time onsite.
 
About the Role
Reporting to the Director for Transformation and Delivery, this position is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of pharmaceutical manufacturing projects from initiation to completion. It’s a critical role where you will need the buy-in from many stakeholders so you will need to be able to work cross-functionally and positively motivate those around you to achieve the goals you have been set.  Ultimately this is to successfully project manage delivery of newly innovated products into manufacturing while meeting or exceeding regulatory and customer requirements.   
 
You may also work with other areas of the business, assisting in the scoping, planning, execution and close out of projects of strategic importance.
 
What you’ll bring:
Due to the importance of this project delivery, we are looking for candidates with proven project management and delivery within an operational environment.  As such, while project management qualifications will be an advantage, what we are really after is someone who has experience in a PMO/PMP environment and who has proven successes of delivering projects on time on budget and to happy customers.
 
While experience in a cGMP environment is preferred, we are open to applicants coming from other sectors, provided you have an appreciation of the compliance and regulatory guidelines that an industry like this needs to meet. In general terms we need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, technology or similar
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar)
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing preferred
  • Understanding of GMP, FDA, or ISO 13485 environments
  • Background in scaling products from development to manufacturing
  • PRINCE2 or PMP certification
