Quality Assurance Assistant
The Client: Our client is a beloved NZ brand that create a range of artisan cheeses, yoghurts, and organic milk products that are distributed across the country to the hospitality industry and food retailers. They are in an exciting phase of development, currently building a strong team with proactive attitudes, and continuous improvement / problem-solving mindsets, to support their goals in increasing their export sales.
The Role: As part of the business’s growth, our client is in search of an experienced Quality Assurance Assistant to support their quality & compliance management as production continues to get busier. Tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting external and internal audits
- Sampling – Collection, registration, sending/dropping off of product, environmental, etc.
- Internal quality checks and verifications
- Supporting the implementation, maintenance and improvement of Quality Systems, including programmes and documentation – e.g. pest control, approved supplier, chemicals, cleaning and sanitation, etc.
- Developing and reviewing SOP’s as required
- Staff training – including development of material, completion of training, and maintaining records
- Development and review of product labels
- Investigating and resolving customer complaints
- Filing non-conformance/ improvement forms
- Ordering relevant consumables
- Performing data entry analysis and reporting – e.g. KPI’s
- Other tasks as and when required
This is a Monday-Friday role, standard office hours.
You, the Candidate: The ideal candidate for this role will bring proven QA experience within a busy food manufacturing environment. Familiarity with quality systems, food safety regulations, internal auditing, and a strong eye for detail will be critical to this role. You will be working within a team of can-doers and must support wider tasks as and when required to ensure smooth operations, whilst demonstrating initiative and having the ability to work independently.
