Quality Lead

The Company: 
Our client is a New Zealand owned company in Wellington. This small but innovative company manufactures medical devices for domestic and international markets. They are experiencing growth and expanding their customer base overseas and this is an exciting opportunity to join them and be part of that growth and success story. The company has an office in Wellington CBD and a production facility in Lower Hutt; the successful candidate will be expected to spend time at each location.
 
The Role: 
This is a hands-on Quality Lead role overseeing all day-to-day quality functions. You will be responsible for ensuring processes required for the QMS are maintained, ensure compliance with international standards, and conducting audits, looking after customer feedback, among other tasks.  
 
As a part time role, we envisage this to be a 20-hour per week across 3 days. This is flexible for the preferred candidate’s needs; however, the successful applicant must be available for day-long audits a few times a year.
 
Requirements: 
With the nature of the products being manufactured, as the ideal candidate you will have a medical devices or pharmaceutical background and QA experience in manufacturing. You will also have the interpersonal and communication skills to support production, customers and to liaise with regulatory authorities.  
 
As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following attributes: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Science/Technology or similar.
  • Quality Assurance experience within a pharmaceutical or medical devices environment (highly advantageous).
  • Experience leading internal and external audits.
  • Experience working to international regulations preferred. 
  • Proven ability to maintain and improve Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience managing customer feedback and queries.
  • Team focussed, highly developed communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
  • Willing to be hands-on.
