The Company:
Our client is a family-owned business dedicated to producing and supplying high-quality, delicious baked goods for retailers and food service companies across New Zealand. Their manufacturing facilities are just a 10-minute drive from Christchurch Central City. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a NZ business that combines a baker’s love for high quality products, and deliciousness in high volume! The Role:
Due to a retirement, our client is in search of a Quality Specialist to join their tight-knit team. Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager, this role provides variety with responsibilities covering hands-on QA activities alongside the production team, auditing and general QMS oversight. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting monthly GMP audits
- Coordinating daily samples for the laboratory
- Verifying all compliance records
- Handling non-conformances and corrective actions
- Environmental swabbing
- Reviewing and updating SOPs and ensuring compliance
- Ensuring compliance with current food safety legislation and certifications
- Monitoring product quality
- Conducting food safety training
- Identifying areas for continuous improvement
This is a Monday – Friday role, 40 hours per week.
You, the Candidate:
Coming from a quality background within the food manufacturing industry, you will bring strong knowledge of food safety legislation and certification maintenance as well as high attention to detail and a can-do attitude. Experience with BRC, MPI, Custom Food Control Plan, Woolworths Supplier Excellence Programme and Coles Programmes are highly preferred. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills and attributes:
- 3+ years QA experience in food/dairy/beverages manufacturing
- HACCP and Internal Auditing certifications
- Knowledge of quality systems in the food manufacturing industry
- Experience working in food quality role or similar
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Approachable and friendly nature
- Experience working with some or most of the certifications listed above (BRC, MPI, Woolworths etc.)
- Ability to build relationships at all levels of an organisation
- You must be in NZ with working rights
