Quantity Surveyor

This is a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys being close to the build, working collaboratively with site teams, and playing a key role in the commercial success of projects.

You’ll be joining an established Tier 2 design & build contractor with a strong presence across Wellington. Known for delivering commercial, residential, community and education projects, the business has built its reputation on long-term relationships, practical thinking and consistently high standards.

About the role:

Working alongside Project Managers and site teams, you’ll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects from early stages through to final account. The role offers good variety and autonomy, with plenty of opportunity to contribute ideas and influence how projects are run.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing cost control, forecasting and monthly reporting
  • Letting and administering subcontractor packages
  • Assessing variations and managing claims
  • Supporting procurement and contributing to financial planning
  • Maintaining clear, professional communication with internal teams and suppliers

What they’re looking for:

You’ll have experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial construction, ideally with main contractor or design & build exposure. More important than years on paper is your approach. They’re looking for someone organised, commercially aware and comfortable working closely with others on live projects. It is important that you are able to communicate effectively and professionally whether it be with internal team members or external sub-trades, clients or consultants.

NB; You must have previous New Zealand based experience to be considered
