The Opportunity
You’ll be joining a close-knit Secondary & Protection team where you can balance hands-on engineering with technical leadership. This is a role where you’ll genuinely contribute to Australia’s renewable energy future while working on a variety of challenging and innovative projects.
 
What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead 4-5 concurrent projects with budget responsibility
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring
  • Be hands-on with technical design work and reviews
  • Conduct protection studies and run simulations
  • Develop protection schemes from concept through to detailed design
  • Work collaboratively with the Primary Team and Civil & Structural Team on multidisciplinary projects
  • Enjoy getting face to face with clients directly on project delivery 

 
Technical Responsibilities

  • Secondary electrical design for distribution, sub-transmission & transmission substations (up to 500 kV)
  • Electrical schematic development
  • SCADA mapping tables and cable schedules
  • Relay configuration file development
  • Protection set point calculations
  • Power systems modelling
  • Design review and verification

 
Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering tertiary qualification
  • Experience to a senior level with Secondary & Protection design
  • CPEng or NER registration (RPEV and RPEQ advantageous)
  • Proficiency in DIgSILENT Power Factory, SKM Powertools, and AutoCAD (2D)
  • Experience with IEC 61850
  • Power utility experience
  • Consulting background
  • Understand Controls and Instrumentation for process industries
