Senior Compliance Officer – 6 month contract

  • Generous salary on offer
  • Seeking internal and external auditing skills
  • Drive the development of food safety and compliance on floor

The Client:
Our client is a global logistics company offering various supply chain services in FMCG, refrigerated and frozen goods, and more across local NZ and international markets. Their new, state-of-the art integrated cold chain facility at the Ruakura Superhub has been up and running for the last year and as they enter high season for their customers, the team are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to support them in this busy period for the business.

The Role:

Reporting to the Quality and Compliance Manager, this role looks after all day-to-day aspects of compliance across the facility. In this fast-paced environment, the daily functions will vary, often requiring flexibility and an agile mindset to keep ahead of prioritised requirements.

This role will be an on-floor role, working alongside the warehouse team to improve processes, procedures, and the wider team’s knowledge of food safety and compliance. This role will also support the Q&C Manager with customer audits, risk assessments, validation of products/packaging through the cold chain, and compliance with MPI contacts.

You, the candidate:

You will have experience working with RMPs, OMAR, Halal, HACCP etc., and in hosting or leading audits.  Validation experience is beneficial, or at least an understanding of working through a validation process.

This role will suit a highly agile, communicative, self-motivated, problem-solver who can handle daily pressure and adapt to change.  You’ll be able to positively motivate the operations team, providing support and training to help them with their own knowledge around compliance.

The nature of the working environment/facility means that for much of your working day you will need to be comfortable working in cool store (4°C) and cold store (-20°C) environments.

This role will suit candidates that have:

  • Minimum 5 years Quality Assurance/Compliance experience in the food or dairy industry
  • Sound background or understanding of Food Microbiology and Quality Assurance
  • ISO/HACCP, RMP, OMAR and auditing experience
  • Excellent investigation, report writing, and corrective actions experience
  • The ability to work as part of a team

  • Able to work with a sense of urgency without compromising quality
  • Active and able to work on your feet all day
